Boulder Briefs

OK, I confess....we left town when the world came to Pittsburgh. When the G20 Summit was here, we left.

We went to Boulder, Colorado for fun and some business. I am a volunteer community partner with BeadforLife, an amazing organization that assists women in Uganda. These wonderful women make beads out of recycled paper which are then sold in the U.S., Canada and Europe. We also do programming to help these women create viable incomes so they can support their families. Our North American headquarters are in Boulder so off I went with the other community partners.

This is a travel blog, but please check out www.beadforlife.org. It is also a great non-profit to engage your teens help. My son's Rotary Club hosted a sale last year and sold nearly $4,000 worth of beads. They are slated for another sale this December. And the storefront at BeadforLife in Boulder is worth a visit 1143 Portland Place, Suite 1. More on Boulder soon...
